Quand on pense à la neige au Maroc, les mêmes noms reviennent toujours : Ifrane, Oukaïmeden, Michlifen. Pourtant, l’hiver transforme bien d’autres régions en paysages blancs spectaculaires, beaucoup plus calmes et authentiques. Entre décembre et mars, le Haut Atlas, le Moyen Atlas et le Rif offrent des routes enneigées, des villages isolés et des sommets silencieux, loin du tourisme de masse.
Imilchil, au cœur du Haut Atlas, devient en hiver un décor presque irréel. Les lacs Isli et Tislit, perchés à plus de 2 000 mètres, sont entourés de montagnes enneigées et de petits villages berbères. Ici, l’intérêt n’est pas la station de ski, mais la marche tranquille, les soirées au coin du feu, le thé partagé pendant que le vent frappe les volets. C’est un lieu parfait pour ceux qui cherchent le calme et les grands espaces.
Plus à l’est, le massif de Bouiblane représente la version sauvage du Moyen Atlas. Avec ses sommets qui dépassent les 3 000 mètres, la neige y reste souvent longtemps. Les crêtes arrondies et les larges plateaux en font un terrain idéal pour la randonnée en hiver, voire le ski de rando pour les plus expérimentés. On y vient pour le sentiment d’isolement, la vue à 360° et la sensation d’être vraiment “en montagne”.
Le Parc national de Tazekka, près de Taza, propose une ambiance différente : forêts de cèdres, gorges, cascades et routes sinueuses qui se couvrent de neige certains hivers. L’altitude plus modérée en fait une belle option pour ceux qui veulent découvrir la neige sans trop d’engagement physique. C’est le spot parfait pour un roadtrip tranquille : points de vue, petites balades, pauses photo au milieu des arbres blancs.
Au nord, dans le Rif, le Jbel Tidghine domine la région avec ses 2 400+ mètres. Après les chutes de neige, le sommet offre des paysages très alpins, avec des vues profondes sur les vallées rifaines et, par temps clair, parfois jusqu’à la Méditerranée. La montée demande un peu d’effort, mais la récompense est à la hauteur : silence, panoramas et villages authentiques sur tout l’itinéraire.
Choisir ces destinations plutôt que les stations classiques, c’est choisir une autre manière de vivre l’hiver : moins de foule, plus de rencontres, plus de nature brute. Avec un minimum de préparation (vêtements chauds, bonnes chaussures, info météo et état des routes), elles deviennent des terrains de jeu incroyables pour les amoureux de montagne.
